Knotted Scarf

I created this knot out of pewter. It was my first time working with metal, and I really enjoyed it. It didn't turn out perfectly because some sand was caught in my casting of the object, but the overall picture is pretty good.

I decided to use the pewter knot as a button on my recent scarf creation, which I am also quite pleased with. The knot ended up adding some very enjoyable class to the scarf.

I Made a Cone

I made this sculpture out of brown modelling wax. It is meant to look like a Conifer seed cone. I am pretty happy with it. I haven't worked with sculpture very much ... so, I am excited that it looks even remotely to what I had in mind.

I HAVE A GOOD REASON!

I haven't posted on ze blog for a long time, but I have a good reason. I moved to Halifax! Plus I started my BFA at NSCAD University! So, I have been busy, but I promise I will start posting normally and on a semi-regular basis ... maybe about art projects and the crazyness of Halifax.

Halifax has been good to me so far. It is a beautiful city made up of friendly talkative people. Everyone has a story to tell. The ocean is amazing ... the humidity is not. My favourite thing is to watch Theodore Tugboat roam around the harbour.

NSCAD has also been great. The faculty are all very down to earth and relatable, which I think is due to them being practicing artists in the community. I am sure I will be more critical in months to come, but I am feeling pretty good about everything right now.

Over and out!

PS. I will post pics from around Halifax shortly : )

Knitting Project: temporarily titled "Snazzy Fingerless Gloves"

The beginnings of a project! I am trying to create this pattern/project ... please bare with me there may be flaws, as I am creating this as I knit. Hopefully it will turn out to be some snazzy fingerless gloves!

My First Day! ... on a blog

I am finally jumping on the wagon and starting my own blog. I keep a website (www.brittneymcisaac.com) with a semi functional blog, but I always admired the blogger format... much more fluid for my random thoughts.

Thank you much for visiting!
