new camera = better pics of awesome projects!

Lots of fun projects have been happening to get ready for Christmas!

Some hand painted holiday cards. I mailed the best looking ones before I took pics. So, you're stuck with the crumby ones!

Also, hand painted/drawn envelopes for the holiday cards!

Here is my knitted Flying Spaghetti Monster. He is rather muppety ... I wanted googly eyes, but had trouble finding them so I made my own. They work for now.

And another project that I'm keeping is this little pin cushion. It's simple, I was tired of my old crumby one, so I made a new one!

I'm still getting use to my new camera, so, don't judge the pictures too harshly! I think the pictures will vastly improve anyways :)

More Knits and things

I've been doing LOTS of knitting lately ... it becomes so much more fun when you know what the heck you're doing!

Firstly, I made a pixie hat. It is modelled by my Sabertooth tiger Squishable.

Secondly, some fingerless mitts to match my pixie hat.

Thirdly, a fancy wrister. You can't see the lace pattern in this picture but it has an arrowhead lace pattern FYI. The buttons are awesomely made by my Dad from tree branches.

Lastly, a lace headband to match the wrister. It also has a lovely wooden button made by my Dad.

"Rather Cunning" Knits

Yep that's right I made the Jayne hat from Firefly. It's a gift for my brother for Christmas. So, shhhh don't tell him. I'm about 99.9% sure that he has never looked at my blog or ever will. I'm going to post this despite the .1% uncertainty. I feel it's safe. Safer than condoms (bad joke).

I used a pattern that I found through Ravelry from Keiyla's Blog. She did extensive research that I felt I could not top, so, I followed her direction. Turned out rather well I think. We will have to wait to see how it looks on my brothers big mellon though.

I should be painting

But I'm making mittens instead! These are my first pair of full sized mittens. I usually only make fingerless gloves. They have competing stripe colours and the stripe sizes were decided arbitrarily, because I like wonky looking things!

More sweet knits

Firstly, a beautifully coloured cowl which will probably be a Christmas present for someone. I knitted a bit too tight and it doesn't fit great when wrapped twice, but it might loosen up after I wash it.
Secondly, a cute headband with a crochet flower. I really like this and I made it to match a red scarf that I made previously. I might keep it, but I haven't decided yet.
Lastly, fingerless gloves. The yarn is amazing! I love multicolour business. It's called "Schoppel-Wolle Pur" in ombre.

Seriously, I have a problem! Can't stop knitting cute things!

Knitting and Yarn! Oh My!

Just sharing some pics of my super knitting projects. So far I've made two scarves. I'm working on a headband and some fingerless gloves. I just bought some delicious looking yarn for some more projects that I haven't decided on. I'm a yarnaholic ... addicted to yarns.

After a long absence

Here is a painting I did at the end of my intro painting class. It is a wall hanging still life. Although this picture is rather horrible I am rather pleased with the actual painting ... it is a collection of random things that were just fun to paint!
